Gwandhaus wedding venue Salzburg is located just a short distance from the center of Salzburg, the Gwandhaus offers a breathtaking setting for your wedding ceremony. Gwandhaus is not just a wedding venue; it’s a piece of Salzburg’s rich cultural history.  Built in the 17th century the Gwandhaus was originally called the Lasserhof and owned by the Dückher family and, from 1677, by the Counts of Martinitz.  In 1867 Rupert Freiherr von Imhof acquired the property and he gave the building a neo-baroque façade.  In 1952, it was converted into a hotel, which was first known as the Kaiserhof and then from 1967 onwards was called the Rupertihof . The castle was given the name Rupertihof as a revival of an earlier name after Rupert von Imhof, the owner after 1867. Most recently, the building was in operation as the Schlosshotel St. Rupert.  The current headquarters of the traditional costume manufacturer Gössl recently changed the name to Gwandhaus . In 2004, another wing of the castle was added, in which the owner Gerhard Gössl had a ballroom built.
